Minnesota is known as the "Land Of 10,000 Lakes" and it's true. If anything there are even more than that number, and you will certainly find most of them have a sign with the name of the lake on it. Most of them have the names the Indian people gave them. Names like "Minneapolis" or "Minnetonka". You will find many lodges, camping grounds and resort cabins that surround the myriad of northern lakes, making this one of the most desirable vacation areas in the state.

You will also find the "Twin Cities" in Minnesota. This metropolitan area combines the three largest cities in the state, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Bloomington.

Fishing does not cease when the lakes freeze; ice fishing has been around since the arrival of early Scandinavian immigrants. Minnesotans have learned to embrace their long, harsh winters in ice sports such as skating, hockey, curling, and broomball, and snow sports such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

The largest shopping mall in the country, Mall of America, is in Bloomington, Minnesota. Over 500 stores, the largest indoor amusement park in the US, a walk-through aquarium, 18 holes of miniature golf, and over 20 sit-down restaurants.

Each January St. Paul hosts it's Winter Carnival. Watch the parade and ice sculpting and join in the Treasure Hunt. Here are a few of the interesting Minnesota signs to be found there.
